Harmonize reveals a deep secret behind success of Nigeria’s Burna Boy and Davido

Tanzanian super star Harmonize has broken his silence about the trend of Nigeria’s Afro pop music and the reasons behind the delay in success, similar to that seen by artists from other countries such as Nigeria and South Africa.

Through his Instagram page, Harmonize, whose real name is Rajab Kahali, said that before fans can compare artists from East Africa, especially Tanzania, with those from other countries that are musically successful in Africa, it is important to consider the language they use and the size of the area that language is spoken.

In addition, Harmonize has made it clear that it is good for artists to use the Swahili language in their songs to promote it, but it is also good for them to use the English language in some songs to try to move the country’s music market to international standards.

“Thank you for the great reception in South Africa, this song, even if you don’t appreciate it and give it a chance like it is now, it probably wouldn’t hurt me. I consider it as the beginning of my journey to chase my dreams. It has been the dream of every artist to hold big concerts and fill as many people as our West African counterparts, until we are insulted while doing shows and get few fans in countries outside Africa,” Harmonize said.

The sad truth is that there are few of us in East Africa, although we love each other very much compared to our colleagues in the West!!! But the same minority, almost half of them speak white and it becomes easy to love them and sing their songs, there are many of our colleagues and even with the majority of them even a quarter do not know what we are talking about and singing, the problem starts there”. Harmonize added.

Kiswahili, a reason as to why Tanzanian stars hit walls in the global market
“It is also difficult for a song that is not a hit in your home to be a hit with your friends. My advice is to love our language  and be proud to sing and decorate it because our language is our pride, it is our culture, but it should not reach the point where we think that all nations understand this wonderful language.

It is very rare for a song to become popular in other countries, it happens rarely, again it is when the producer plays a strong beat and not the words. I congratulate BASATA for his efforts to find a national rhythm, maybe we got a sound to identify us like it is for our fellow South Africans”.

“Good BASATA, let’s sing and be proud of our culture. But if we get a chance, let’s sing this language once and for all. It’s not bad. I believe it will help promote our culture and lead other countries to follow our music and learn our languages along with our cultures.

Because songs like this will enlighten you to know how much we give them. Thank you very much to all of you who support these songs as well as other songs, and those who don’t, then don’t ask yourself why we don’t go International”. He said Harmonize.

Burna Boy, Davido, Wiz Kid.

Despite this, Konde Boy has urged music fans in the country to stop competing Tanzanian artists and artists from Nigeria due to what he claims that their success is due to the language they use being heard and understood by a large number of people in the world compared to Kiswahili.

“Also stop competing with Burnaboy & Davido, Wizkid because the language they use in their songs is heard and understood almost all over  the world.

Thank me later, Rema, Ruger and Omah Lay have passed us by Lol they are paid more money for the show than any East African artist because they are heard in a large area”. Harmonize said.

Recently Harmonize has been expressing his passion to compose snd sing his songs using English with hopes that the his international fans can easily understand the lyrics and the songs will make waves and make it to the global music market.

The smash hit ‘Single Again’ is a living proof that the energy he put to compose English lyrics for this song did not go in vain.
